I'm a little frustrated with the new Z. I've already had the car in for a diff leak (at under 2k miles), and now (at 3k) the back of my drivers seat is slipping. The back support on the right side seems to pop out and it moves backward. I can get it back in place, but as soon as I hit bumps, it slips backward. Also, my steering wheel isn't straight. I didn't have any of these issues with my coupe.
Any body else have any issues with the back?
Yeah, I think that the seats in the Z06 are flimsy. It feels like the seat is just short of breaking when I lean back and put any pressure on it. I'm skeptical that they would hold up in a rear end collision.
Funny, I was just thinking the other day about how these seats aren't worthy to be in a Corvette. The Sport Seats that I had on the 99 C5 Coupe were better. Don't get me started on the whole vinyl thing... I wish that there were some more alternatives in the aftermarket environment, but I hear that the clearance is very limited on the sides. I haven't seen anything but Sparco that fits. And it's bolt-in-one-place only.
