Default 2001 Z06

Is it worth getting a 2001 Z06? Is much of an upgrade of a 2000 coupe?
I'm in the market of buying one or the other even tho i love the fact that you can take the top off the coupe handling and speed is more important to me than getting wind in my hair. I think if i want wind i'll bring the windows down when i'm going 180  I can find 2000 coupes and 2001 z06s for around the same price 30-33k with low mileage. Is it much of a upgrade from the 2000 coupe as in handling and performace? I know the 2002-2003 z06s are but thats cause they ahve 405hp i was wondering about the 2001 z06 cause it only has 385 which doesn't seem like much of a difference form eht 350 in the coupe even tho at those high numbers i dunno if it really is much of a difference cause i have never owned a car with over 200 hp unless you count SUVs.

Anyways for all of you that didn't feel like reading all that or its hard to udnerstand (i'm tired and its late) All i'm asking is. Is the 2001 Z06 worth the extra 2-3k from a 2000 coupe and is the performance in the car a notable difference(2001 model z06 with 385hp)? Ok thanks for all the advice in advance guys.

Where are you finding '01s for 30-33k??? Tell us! I just got my '01 for 34 and I haven't seen anything close to that in a while, it seems prices are on the rise. I wanted yellow and the cheapest yellow coupes I could find were 30k! So for an extra 4k I get larger wheels and tires (4k there) a lower geard tranny (3k) Different heads (D shaped exhaust ports) and a cam. I can't take the top off, but this car is hella fast. Oh yeah I get differnt springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars. Also, I have a lighter torque tube, tranny cooler, lighter glass, etc.

I would argue that the z06 is worth it if the two following conditions are true:

1. You have enough money for the cost difference to be no big deal to you
2. You do any sort of competitive racing involving turns

:)
