[Z06] Ripper Noise. Can I do anything?

I have 2 Rippers installed with the stock ****. NO Noise at all.. make sure the shift **** is screwed all the way down, good and tight. It gets better with age... took mine about 5000 miles before it did not feel nochie...

One trick is to cut a tennis ball in half open a small hole in the top center and slip it over the shifter lever and seat it firmly at the base of the OEM rubber insulator. It fits snuggly inside too. That should eliminate and drive-train noise if that's your issue.

After 19k miles I just plain got used to the acceleration rattle.
Other noises are starting to develop now. Torque tube bearings and 5th and 6th gear whine at interstate speed.
Still, these are minor noises. It ain't no Caddy or Benz but I don't have any expectations for my z06 to be a luxbox or sled either.
By the way, still to this day, I still have the same grin after I finish driving the beast even after 20k miles on the car.

I put on a MOMO shift **** and my Ripper has no noise (probably couldn't hear it if it did!) :crazy: :crazy:

Stage 1: Wrap threads with Teflon Tape. Insert small piece of foam on top of shaft, tighten ****.
Stage 2: Get Dynamant Extreme and cut piece to fit over factory rubber isolator surrounding shifter.
Stage 3: Wrap Dynamat around ripper shaft underneath boot.
All quiet!!!

The silencer ring that is made by Kirban may work on the Ripper. I got my Kirban over 2 years ago (before the "ring" was standard) and noticed some noise. I bought the upgrade at Xtreme in Tempe, AZ. I cured the prob.
