I keep on hearing about this lowering kit that costs $40...but that doesnt make sense to me if i can just go buy the bolts for like 4 dollars total..correct? or is there a catch i am missing?
Anyways..I have been told that the bolts that i will need are the:
7" grade 8 hex bolts with self locking nuts that are 1/2 or 9/16 in diameter
If this is correct? If so, can i fiind these like at a home depo or an Ace hardware store? Thank you guys.
Re: Lowering the car tomorrow..please help (01BLKZ06)
how low you want to go?
you need bolts only if you want to go lower than 1.5"
i'm not sure about bolts specs, but you make perfect sense to me and can buy those bolts from any hardware store
this is how bolts look like https://www.aandacorvette.com/images...oweringkit.jpg

Hey, I lowered my Z myself. I did not replace the rear bots, I wanted the front and rear in sink. If you want to go lower than the rear bolts will allow, just get grade 8 bolts, with same diameter as stock, but 3" longer.

 :lolg: You guys are nuts!! I kept my stock bolts in the rear and just shaved 2/3 of the bushings off. Removed my front bolts all together  No, it doesn't ride like a brick truck. The ride and the look is awsome!! You can only get about a finger and a half in all the finder wells  Good luck :flag

dude, the stock height of the corvette is already low and you gotta be careful when go to a lift, what did you expect after lowering the car 1" ?
just common sense
