You should use the HUD if you want to shift right at the rev limiter, you will
find the analog tach to be a little slow to react and if you are watching that
while you are racing you will bounce off the rev limiter before the needle
gets to 6500 rpm.The HUD,however,is right on time. :smash:
Since the speed is measured and calculated digitally, and since the analog is electromechanical, the speed displayed by the HUD should be precisely what the computer is measuring.
But this does not necessarily mean that it is the most accurate since there will always be measurement errors.
The only way you will know for sure for your particular car would be to run a speedometer calibration and see.
My HUD reads 1 mph higher than what I set the cruise control to.
Another curious thing about cruise control is that sometimes when increasing or decreasing the cruise says the same speed (i. e., 74 mph for two up clicks) but the speed does change. The manual says that the cruise control is approximate, but it seems to me that a digital device should at least accept inputs directly in mph.
