I'm a new and first time corvette owner.. I sold my 01 mustang cobra and bought an 02 EB Z06. I think its the best decision I've ever made.. I bought it two days ago and autocrossed it yesterday with a corvette car club.
Out of 50 cars or so I had some of the fastest times for the day. The Z06's abilities are absolutely mind boggling. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about these cars.
Here are a few pics of it.
Thanks
Welcome on board. This forum is the best. Your car is the best. I debated back and forth between EB and Millenium Yellow before deciding. You have made a giant leap upward in cars. Don't get me wrong, we have respect for the Cobra but if you like speed and handling refinement, you couldn't have done better! Ask all the questions you can, check the archives out by word search first as so many topics have already been covered. Get a less restrictive air intake as your first easy mod. If you don' t have the 1st to 4th "forced shift" disabled buy a CAGS eliminator and install it. Miles of smiles ahead! :hurray:
Thanks everyone! I'm extremely happy with the color choice also. I love the bold metalic in the paint and the fact that its not so common.
Louis- I'm pretty sure I want the X-1 and the LG PRO Longtube header system after you get back to town. I think that would definitly do the trick :yesnod: I still want to hear more of your thoughts before I decide but its all coming from LG thats for sure. Thanks bud.
Anthony- I'm happy to be back and glad you enjoyed the car.. I'm planning on doing the 1/2 in. factory drop today if your around come on over and give me a hand!!
Louis I did get the car lowered today and am very pleased with how it came out.. It actually came out better than I thought it would.. Once we had it on the lift it took a whole 15 min to do the front and rear.
I also got it on the scales tonight.. Try beating 3,020 lbs. :hurray:
I'm hoping your LT's will be enough to get the car under 3k.
You save right at 15 pounds with the LG PRO system. I weighed it upon install, but its in my notes at the office.
I have a few other tricks you can try ;) Im going to weigh the FRC tomorrow. Im shooting for 3200 dry. Cage, brakes, and a few other mods load it up a tad.
