I posted something a wile back about my very slow trap speeds in the quarter mile . Stock with an 01 z06 it was consistent 109mph , and from what I have seen and looking at other posts this is a bit off . I was told to get my 60' to at least 2.0 and my et and mph should improve .
So , to help I got some 295/35/18's BFG drag radials and my 60' is down to 2.0 , not great but . I did seven runs and still the max mph was 109 with an ET or 12.9 . There were other 01 z06's doing 112mph and 113mph so I know the track and air is good . I really do think I got a dud from the factory ... help !!!! Anyone else in this boat with me .... if so any ideas on what the problem is ... The only mod's are a halltech T-1 intake and the BFG's .. the car feels strong and run great with no codes ...
I know this doesn't help, but my '01 with only a vortex trapped at 111.4 mph into a headwind with a 2.4 60'. SO... you mph is off. I ran 108 in my parents' stock '99 vert.
Maybe you could have it dyno'ed to see what's going on. Maybe your getting knock retart that's pulling timming or something like that. Couldn't hurt to check that stuff out.
Re: Remember me ? Slow Trap Speeds ... (Power Shifter)
I'm shifting at red line , not hitting the rev limiter ... I don't believe it's the new intake if thats what you mean .. I had the exact trap speed with the stock are box as well .. I got a turd , a stone cold factory turd .. lol
Maybe, but I woulden't jump to that conclusion yet. Droping your shift point to 6250 1-2 and 6250-6300 for the 2-3 and 3-4 is what I would do if I were you. The give away is no chang with your intake, it's your shift points. IMHO Ric
Re: Remember me ? Slow Trap Speeds ... (Power Shifter)
I will give it a try the next time ... I also have time set up at the local dyno ... see if it's running funky before I hit the track again ... thanks for the input
Hope it helps. Moveing the shifter faster will help with your et more than mph but quicker et's are more fun than mph for me, anyway. Hope all goes well for ya at the dyno. Ric

Put the stock airbox back on with a new & clean stock filter. Make sure that you are running the very best gas in your area. Look for Sunoco Ultra 93. You may also want to let a more experienced Z06 driver take a run in your car.
I was at a test and tune day at L.A. county raceway where there were several zo6 vettes present, I was listening to a few guys chatting about identical cars being off many miles per hour in the traps. I overheard one of the guys saying to make sure you say in it all the way through the lights. I was a little curious, so i watched him run then went in the pits just in time to here him say to his partner "that must have been the problem". just a thought.
