Borla Race System
Has any one purchased the Borla C5 XR1 race system option 3 for their Z06. I was pretty set on going with the Borla Stingers but now am wondering about the this other system and how it compares to the Stingers.

Had 'em on my auto vert, but with the stick you'll be able to drive around the reonsnance easier :)....I loved them!

XR1 would to too loud for highway crusing in either A4 or Z06. But in MN6 car with 3.15 end, it is not that bad. XR1 basically doens't have mufflers and that system gets pretty loud after 2K RPMs.
Stingers are much more quite.

I went all the way to BG from Tampa, 750 miles, and never had the radio on once....they're fine at cruising speed :reddevil ....although not for everyone :cheers:

I definitely recommend the Borla XR-1 system. IMO it is by far the best sounding system for the Vette. It adds a little power but the looks, weight savings (around 40lbs), and sound are worth it. The Stinger set up is also nice, but not as free flowing and not quite as aggressive. There is some resonance at 2k rpms if you have your converters on with the XR-1. With the cats off the resonance dramatically decreases and the sound is incredible. Just some thoughts, hope this helps a little. :cheers:
