Anybody have opinions on the Breathless shifter? Review article on Z06vette.com seemed to have high regard for the Breathless but I'm looking for more first hand impressions. I'm trying to decide between the Breathless and the Hurst, so advice from anyone who has tried both would be extra appreciated.
I have the Breathless and am extremely happy with it. I can't compare it with the Hurst because I have never tried that shifter. That said, IMHO I don't think you can beat the Breathless for both quality and options. Having the ability to adjust the shift *** in 16 (if I remember correctly) different locations, at different angles and having the choice of 3 different spring loads is extremely convenient. And believe me, I tested out every **** position and spring load before deciding on the final location/load. The shifter itself is very crisp and I haven't missed 3rd since installing the unit. It was a little "notchy" at first, but that has worked itself out with use. I love this shifter! I hope this helps.
Thanks, it does help. This doesn't seem like the most popular shifter in the world (by number of people who use it), but from the few I've found who have tried it, appears to be a great shifter.
I have one and love it. I have not owned but have tried the other shifters on other club members cars and I liked the BPP the best. The linkage gets easier after itÕs broken-in. IÕm a nut about noise and all the after market shifters are noisier than the OEM model. I spent a lot of time getting the shifter and drive line noise removed. If noise is important to you, IÕll be putting a BPP into a friend's new MY Z06 and if you like IÕll take pics of the install for you to use. Just let me know.
