I am looking at buying a 2002 Z06 (2500 miles) from a dealer. Price is good ($38 000) and vehicle is in excellent condition.
Th only thing is that I will be the 4th owner!! Is this reason enough not to buy it? Will it affect the value and resale ( I am not planning on selling it for many years) of the vehicle?
The story of the vehicle is as follows (true or not!): The vehicle was bought by owner 1 from the same dealer who is now selling it again. Owner 1 had it for a few months when the 50th Anv. came out and he bought a new 50th Anv., selling the Z06 to his cousin (owner 2) who had it for a couple of months. He did not like the Z06 and sold it to a friend (owner 3). He did not drive it enough and his wife told him it's her or the Z06. He chose his wife and traded it in to the original dealer! All of this within 2500 miles!?
What are the odds of this really happening? Yes, its possible I guess...but it sure seems concoted. Personally I would shy away from this unless you could verify each story....just doesn't sound right. There are many other deals out there....check around would be my advise.
:yesnod:
Definitely contact the previous owners. They have nothing to lose, they will tell you candidly if there was something wrong.
Seems a lot of rich guys buy vettes, so I can definitely see a lot of swapping going on. 'Ohh, I want this color instead, let's trade it in with 40 miles on it'
