[B]Edit: I found some old topics on the subject. Sorry![B]
I did a search for this topic and found nothing, so..... Can you put a factory 12-disc changer in a Z06? I will be picking up my TR/MR 2003 this weekend to replace my 01 coupe that was stolen and totaled. One of the options that I think I'm gonna really miss is the 12-disc changer. Anyone know if it can be done with the stock unit? Details??
Yes you can.
You will need the CD changer and the cable to go from the changer to the electrical connector under the floor board on the passenger side. The plugs are already there.
You will need to remove the interior trim from the right side of the car in order to run the cable, but it comes off and back on easily.
It is designed to attach in the center compartment, but with some modification to the braket I installed mine in the right compartment.

Re: CD changer on Z06? (calvin2093)
I bought the harness from Ken Fitchner and installed the changer in the right side compartment, didn't even drill anything, just put a few long pieces of velcro on it and stuck it to the carpet. Then I stuffed a few small black towels around it to keep it snug and out of sight. That was over 6 months ago and it has never skipped even once. Good luck!
You know, the towel idea is a good one.
I installed mine with the bracket screwed into the fiberglass, but it does skip regularly when changing lanes.
I think I will try removing it from the bracket and surrounding it with foam to see if it makes a difference.
