Just got my new shifter *** from Mid-America. :hurray: Install was a breeze, just five minutes. I also noticed that with this new ****, shifting is a lot easier  . Has anyone else had this experience. Either way I just love the look and feel of the new ****.
Did you put that **** on a stock shifter? If so, how much higher is it than the stock shift ****?
No I did not put it on a stock shifter, I put in a hurst last week. With the new shifter and new **** my shifts are lightning quick compared to stock trim. Can't wait for Sep. 14 when WCCC goes to LACR at give it a try.
And to answer your other question, the new **** screws in pretty deep. So compared to the stcok **** it can't be more that 3/4 of an inch higher. If you want quicker shift times, I would highlt recommend this mod.
BTW, with the new ****, it has cut out a lot (not all) of the shifter noise that comes with the hurst, I'll just have to get something else to get rid of the sound completly. :auto:
To help eliminate the noise from the hurst shifter, try a string of stick on wheel weights w\rapped around the base of the shifter uner the cover. I know it sounds goofy but it works. Just adjustment the number until the noise goes away. Beats the hell out of trying to adjust the noise out with the springs which by the way isn't going to happen.
Its easier to shift cause you have more leverage now with the slightly taller ****. Sounds like it may be a winning combo. I gotta get a new **** cause im looking for every last tenth in my car
