Corvettes are not from Hawaii they are made in Kentucky, so there are no C5s from Hawaii, maybe a few in Hawaii :jester

When I first decided to buy my Z06 I went to JN Chevy to see what kind of price they were asking. They had a Torch Red one on the floor and their starting price was $68,000  . I then went online and was able to find one for $45,000 (brand new). I had to pay another $1000 for a "courtesy drop charge" to Service Motors for them to bring the car in. A few weeks later the salesman from JN called me trying "make a deal". When I told him how much I payed he didnt believe me...I have had several bad experiences with JN, they are a bunch of crooks IMHO

:mad I have to agree with you WWK888! JN "sucks" so bad! Do they actually think people will buy a $65-$70k Z06? But then again...there is a part of our population that will be idiot enough to pay that much for a Z06.

So...I guess there are no takers for the "Cruise" I was suggesting, eh? :auto: :auto: :auto: :D Laterzzzzzzzzzz!

hey guys, i went to JN today, to try and get a Z06...and my experience there sucked...here's what i posted on another board which i frequent...

so i went down to JN chevy today...

they have 2 yellow '03 z06's on the lot...one in the showroom, and one outside...i wanted the one in the showroom, figuring it'd have less miles, but NOPE...170 and 162 miles on them...that's a WHOLE LOTTA test drives...anyway, they have a 8k markup on the vettes...

anywhoo, the salesman i originally spoke with said he was busy with other customers, so he let me talk with another dude, who CLAIMED to have just started...

i told them to appraise my 97 M3, and they did...

i told them there was no way i was gonna pay over msrp for the vette...they wanted to run my credit rating first, but i said apprasie the M3 first, then run the credit app, because if i cant get a good deal, i dont need to waste my/your time...i told them EXACTLY what my credit score was (i have a copy of my credit report from last month)...

they said make an offer on the vette, so i said, "invoice is 45k, someone here ordered one from the mainland and had it "courtesy delivered" to servco in wahiawa and he paid 47k total"...

i offered them 48k for the car and i wanted 19.5k for my trade...they balked and 2 different "managers" came up and started saying that we were trying to steal the car from them, etc...and that actual cash value of my M3 was 12k!!! i told them that the 19.5 figure came from BOTH the mercedes AND bmw dealers when making a trade...

they said that the car is 61k (including markup) and if i wanted it discounted to 48k, then i have to lower my price on the M3...they said they can do msrp and give me MAX of 14k on my car...

i also told them servco has a black Z06 on the lot, and they were asking MSRP for it...and i could get an 04 for msrp if i wanted...they said "well, why dont you offer us msrp?" i told them, why should i offer msrp for a 2003 model with 160 miles??? i can get a brand new 04 with less than 20 miles from servco if i have to pay msrp...the suspension was changed on the 04, and i'd rather have the new suspension...it's also the ending of 2003, and the new body style will be out in 2005."

THEN, they said, "if you're looking at spending 48k, we can put you in a tahoe" i said, "i dont want a tahoe...i want a Z06...if you cant help me out, then we dont need to waste each other's time"...

somewhere in between, they aksed what i could afford, and they also asked me if i bought my M3 new...(these two questions pissed off my auntie who was with me)...i told them i can afford 1k/month payments if they would take 48k for the car and 19.5 for the trade...

another manager came out and said they could gice me the car for MSRP, no trade...i said if i have to pay msrp for a 03, i'll go to servo and order me an 04, with less than 160 miles on it...they said, you have to wait, blah, blah, blah...i said i was looking at so many cars, that i can wait for something else to come along...

so no Z06 for me today...oh well...and you guys shoulda seen my auntie...she's pretty mellow, and hardly gets upset, but she really hated the attitude of the managers and JN...she stated that they were rude and had very bad customer service, which i have to agree with...i guess we're more accustomed to the sales dept of mercedes and bmw...if we ever got treated like that at those dealerships, the salespeople wouldnt even last a month...

i mean they didnt even say thank you for your time, etc...even *I* said that when leaving...oh well...no z06 for me today...time go go and check with servco or doing that "courtesy delivery" thing...

Your experience does not surprise me one bit. I hope you took a nice long shower after dealing with those guys  I have my own horror stories about those guys.

I once bought a brand new 91 Camaro Z28 from them. When I took delivery I discovered it had really bad waterspots on the black paint. They said no problem, bring it back and they will detail it with a "special new product" to get rid of the spots. Well I drop it off and when I returned to pick it up, turns out the detailer was a guy I met before. He pulled me on the side and told me he tried to get rid of the waterspots but couldnt so JN told him to wet sand my car. He refused to do so until he was sure I was aware of it...they told him I was (which was a lie). When I confronted the manager about this he denied they were going to wet sand the car and the detailer was "misinformed". I dropped the keys off on his desk and said I wanted a full refund for the car plus interest I paid on my loan or my lawyer would be in contact with him. I had a check in four days... They then tried to resell the car and I had a friend call and pretend to be interested. My friend asked why such a low mileage car (300 miles) was for sale as a used car and they said they had to repo the car from a guy who had bad credit and couldnt make the payments...unbelieveable!!!

Well, I lived on Maui for ten years and I think it's even worse at Haleakala Motors... same markups, even worse treatment. They were claiming the $6,000 markup was for prep and shipping to Hawaii, what a bunch of jerks. Sure take advantage of you... Buy from the mainland, that's what I did. Hopefully all those fools will all go out of business!!

My 98 coupe is about to get here to me in Kailua-Kona. Just moved here 2 months ago so still trying to find the good hang out and cruise spots. Oh and the local Chevy dealer has their Z06 for 60k even.

Aloha,

What's up Swimmer and No Mercy?? Rodrigo here...former owner of Hugger Orange SS...

Same old story with JN...offered me 19k for my SS IF I bought an 03 Z from them at $61k. I pretended I was interested to be able to drive the yellow Z outside (hee hee...18 of those 160 miles are mine). After the drive I said how much to buy my car outright...was told it was only worth 12k yet they were selling a 2001 Z28 with 21k miles for $28,675!
I went back last weekend..the guy asked about my SS and I told him I sold it two days after he saw it for a price of $21k (no lie). Of course he refused to believe me. Just went back there to see if I wanted the Z style or the hatchback. After I decided, I went home, hopped on the net and bought an '02 EB Z with 4100 miles from Florida. Even with shipping to here, I saved 30k over there price for an 03. They are such rip offs.
My Vette will be here Nov timeframe because I am having my uncle paint some interior pieces and some under the hood parts.
We need to hook up at that time Swimmer...
