I am buying an electron blue z06 and was wondering what most people think of the torch red interior. I think it looks good on a red car. I have never seen it in person on a blue car. any thoughts?
Well, I just bought my first z06 and I bought it sight unseen 1200 miles away, because it is Yellow with a Black/Torch Red Interior....Looks great with most any color!
As far as I was concerned, I didn't care what external color it was, but it had to have the Mod Red guts. I ended up with Torch Red/Mod Red. By the way, the Red turns heads like my Quicksilver coupe never did.
The Mod Red interior really seems like a popular choice on the Z06s, when I bought mine, I searched for one optioned like that for resale value :)
At the time I was in the market, it didn't matter much to me one way or the other. I knew I wanted a black car however, and the one I found had the mod red. I really think it makes the look of the car "pop," and am very happy with the choice.
No offense to anyone, as this is just personal preference, but I think the mod red interiors are ugly, especially on yellow or blue. It strikes me as typical Corvette gawdy.
:steering: Don't get me wrong, I like red, especially for the exterior. But red seats are gaudy--gaudy!! The good news is that there are enough of you guys that like them to provide a decent resale value for this type of car.

My suggestion is to actually see and sit in a Mod-Red (in the daylight) to make sure you can handle it. My car is a daily driver, and I would not have been able to tolerate the red interior on a daily basis. They are a rarer option that you don't see much, so that may be helpful or harmful in a resale. You can't go wrong with all black. If you do get the mod-red and change your mind, it should be easy to find somebody with a black interior to swap out parts with on the forum.
You can also purchase the complete Mod-Red interior thru Fichtner for about $1800, or buy select Ken King parts to modify your interior.
Glad I went with the red interior on the Quicksilver Z. People love it when they get in, really makes the car look different and not the standard "black" that most cars have. Everyone comments on it and I use my Z as a daily driver too, I love the red and wouldn't have it any other way. My last car (Grand Prix GTX) was an all "dark gray" interior and it was boring! People never commented on it like they do the Z interior, everyone loves it!
Get the red if you like the look, it's worth it in my opinion.
I thnk it looks good on every color except Mellenum Yellow :U . That is why I made sure to get my car in with black interior. Yellow with red door pannels look like a ronald McDonald car.
