My alarm went off Monday with no one around. I shut it off and unlocked the car remotely and found the radio on full blast and the warning chime ringing.
I started the car and manually shut-off the radio but could not lock the car through the remote. I locked the car manually and everything seemed fine. Alas on Tuesday the car was deader than the proverbial doornail.
Car has been flatbedded to the dealer and yes the battery is dead, they do not know why. It started immediately with a boost.
Any ideas?
My thoughts are the car has had problems remembering seat settings and thus there may be a problem in the control module or the key came in contact with something that deprogrammed it.
Surprise, the dealer found nothing and Technical Support can't understand how it could happen.
BTW Lexus had similar problems and put out a TSB in 1999 warning about allowing their key to be located near any other similar type device. Also they warn about the key ring itself being in contact with the key, plastic covering, when trying to start the car.
