Hello Friends,
I'm thinking about putting on new headers, exhaust, x-pipe, short shifter for my 2001 z06. Yes, these are terms that I have heard people throw around. To be honest, I have no clue as to which headers, exhaust, etc... to get. Friends of mine have mentioned that I should keep the TITAN. exhaust, but I'm not for sure. Any suggestions. I have already installed (not me) a RAM Air Vortex Box (and Power Duct), Thermo with controller. Please provide suggestions/opinons etc... on the above items. Please provide facts as your supporting evidence. Pending the 'response' of this post, will dictate the direction I will take for my modifications.
Thanks again!

The best headers out there are LGM. You can search and find many posts that cover them. You can also find a link in the left frame.

Changing out the cat-back portion of the exhaust, is for the most part, a way to change the exhaust note, as opposed to getting more power. For that reason, selection has to start with the kind of sound you prefer, not what many here will recommend. It's best that you listen to different cars, both inside and out, before making a choice there.

My first suggestion would be to do a search on each topic of interest. There is a lot of info on this forum and an informed purchase is the the best.

FLP, TPIS, StainlessWorks and LGM headers, all long tube, do well on these cars. Some some with X-Pipe, some don't, some like the FLP's have off-road pipes so you can run with or without their supplied high flow cats.

Ripper and Hurst shifters are better than stock by a long shot IMO, the choice is a matter of personal preference, try each out on someone elses car before you decide.

Keep the titanium exhaust unless you want a more aggressive exhaust note, they flow like crazy and are light, the aftermarket unit will add little if any power.

Good Luck!
