SHIFTING PROBLEM....HELP
I have an 03 Z06 with 1100 miles on it. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd near redline, it feels like I am completely in 3rd gear but the rev limiter goes off. If I take my foot off of the clutch the car revs like it is in neutral. Most importantly, when I put the clutch in and attempt to take it out of 3rd gear it is hard to pull it out of third. I am trying to get some feedback before I take it to the dealer so I can explain it better.

Not to be stupid, but seriously, it sounds like you're shifting too late (i.e. shifting gears then you're too close to the rev limiter. Does it do it when you shift a little earlier?

The rev limiter is going off because third gear isn't engaging properly. This is my guess because if third gear engaged the rpm's would drop back down a little bit. If I was shifitng late and hitting the rev limiter, why does my third gear get stuck in place everytime. I have tried shifting as early as 6000 rpms and it still happens.

Off to the dealer. My totally ignorant uninformed guess would be that you have a bent shift fork. You are not going into 3rd gear at all as you have stated. The fork is bent and when you shift, it is seating into no man's land and that is why it is not engaging. The reason it is getting stuck is because it ain't supposed to be there in the first place. Anyway, good luck. This is not an uncommon problem with this transmission(although it is usually the 3-4 shift).
