Major BUMMER!!! Sorry friend. We unfortunatly are going to see more and more bad stuff happening. As the economy is 'improved' to the 'better' neo-con view. Just my opinion. Ric
I hate to even hear about this. My 2 cents. Those same F'ers got my 99 coupe twice and probably half of everyone I know in Houston has had this happen.
This is a professional theft ring that works the gulf coast. They have air tools and locking lugnuts dont even phase these guys. On my second set of wheels I had locking Gorilla locks on EVERY lug of EVERY wheel, came out one morning to find all 20 neatly stacked by each wheel. They dont damage or touch the cars just jack it up, take off the rears, put the block in place, lower it down, get the fronts and they are gone in under 5 minutes - its like an Indy pit crew. The apartments I lived in on the first go-round had these guys on grainy video coming in in a van and leaving 12 minutes later with 11 sets of wheels from various cars. The only thing you can do is get a house or an apartment with a garage - anything else and you are fair game. They know what they are doing and wont come back for several months and will bypass any car in plain sight - just moving on to the next. I remember all too well the hassle and frustration this caused and I feel for you. Houston has become the ghetto and is getting worse - this sucks!
My blood pressure shot up, and that was just looking at the Pic. I can just imagine how you felt. :mad I had a minor theft happen to me, not as bad as yours. Some idiot took all my chrome valve stem cover and caps. That wouldn't be so bad but the f#$%ups damaged all four rims.
I agree about the locking lugnuts...they do nothing for theft. Heck, I bought a mustang that had locking lugnuts on it and the previous owner forgot to give me the key. I had all four off in about 5 minutes and I'd never even done it before. <shrug>
Definitly want to hear the details as to when/where this was.

They prevent the idiots from stealing your rims, the casual thief with a tire iron. They will not stop a professional theft ring (which this probably was since they didn't touch the other cars) but it will at least slow them down... a complete set of locks will take longer to get off than the standard lugs. It's worth a shot to at least avoid coming back to your car looking like this. I know guys who have had damage to their lugs because someone couldn't get the locks off. Better than nothin'...
wire C4 to each wheel......pull it off without taking the time to disarm...well.....no tire...but no theft either! Put the hammer down on these guys and they will go elsewhere...... :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
Ok, here let me give you a suggestion on replacements. Obviously the stock wheels and tires are pretty pricey. But, if you look in the for sale section you sometime scome across complete sets fairly reasonably.
Or, you could look at some of the new CCWs. They are about $2400 and are way less than HREs.
They only come in 19's though.
275/30/19 front. 305/30/19 rear
AlexWS6 and his Dad own the car. They are in Houston if you'd like to see them.
Where in Houston did it happen, I'm there often, I know it's a big city but they sure have their fair share of the crime pie
:iagree: Where in Houston did it happen? Lots of us from Houston on this Forum and are curious what part of town, etc. Thanks, and good luck with the insurance company.
