Default rear view mirror issue

hi all

noticed last night that my inside rear view mirror is not engaging the dimmer function to lessen the impact of headlights coming up behind me.
I tried resetting it per the owners manual but it still doesnt come on
I think there is a green light that should be on as well to indicate that it is indeed ON ....my green light is off

anyone had this problem??

maybe mine just broke ......

thanks
Kevin

If your map lights don't turn on then I had the exact same problem. It was because the battery leaked with 7 miles on the car and the acid wore through the wiring underneath the battery and only ruined this little wire that caused an open circuit and the map lights and rearview autodimmer not to work. It was covered under warranty for me.

I will check it out though...
and I will check out the battery issue

I believe the shifter illuminator light stays on all the time.

The little green light should come on when activated. Check your fuses as well.

I had the same problem, even though the green light was on. If the good advice above doesn't work, try holding the button for about 5 seconds. Mine started working after I did that.

My rear view dim seems to be working at night. But there are times when I like it to work during the day when somebody's head lights are strong or when the sun is hitting it. Is the dim activated by ambient light or directed ligth?

Mucho thanks,
Sparky

Also make sure nothing is obstructing the mirror sensor (facing windshield). If a toll pass of similar blocks the sensor the mirror may not work.

But its still sounds like an electrical issue.
