I read 6200 rpm somewhere but I'll go for 6300 if that's the consensus. And don't worry about redline. That's what the rev limited is for  If you never hit the rev limiter, you are either one hell of a driver or you don't drive that beast hard enough :D

Your next challenge will be to actually spot it when it's illuminated....not the brighest thing in the world...as other threads on this topic will attest. In fact, not once have I ever noticed it....night or day.

Under normal, street driving conditions I agree (should be a different color or something). But if you are at the drag strip and focusing on the HUD, it is quite easy to see and IMO better than staring at your dash tach.

I've got an '02 Z and have hit the limiter a few times. It sneaks up on you fast!

I haven't ever seen a shift light. Is it on the '02s or just the 03's? If on '02s, where is it - up at the top right of the tach graph?

Thanks.

It's just below the 6-7k rpm marks on the digital tach. Don't know if it's on '02s or not. Wasn't the HUD new to the '03s?

If you wait until the light comes on for the 1-2 shift, most likely you will hit the limiter (I've learned to time it at the strip), but if you shift right as it comes on for the 2-3 and pause briefly before shifting when it comes on for the 3-4, you will be shifting right at redline everytime. Takes some practice and I'm still not great at it :smash: .
