Default Thermo Controller and Hurst Shift

Dear Friends,
I recently had a 160 Therm and Controller installed in my Z06. Well, immediately, I noticed that the controller (or something) was a defect. Why? The temp was 226. The 'shop' told me the controller was a defect. Have you guys heard of this before? Also, Sometime this week, the 'shop' will install the Hurst Shifter. I asked him how long would it take, and he could not give me an answer? So, how long should it take to install the Hurst Shifter? Not the average Joe, but a Corvette shop? Thanks again. Also, any advice on what me next modes should be? Currently, I have the 160 therm (and controller), ram air vortex intake (with carbon fiber duct). What can I get the most bang for my buck? Any particular exhaust, muffler, x-pipe, header combination? Price??
Thanking you in advance.

From the time I opened my garage door until I closed it, took me about two and a half hours.

 :steering: Anything can break or be defective. What kind of controller do you have? Can you send it back? Hayden makes a controller you can get at Pep Boys, ect for about $40. Good luck.

It should take someone who has done it before 30-40 minutes. It is no big deal but it takes a little time to properly adjust the stops so you don't get vibration. Good luck. I recommend Corsa X pipe with Borla Stingers but listen to them first. Some people think they are too loud. I love mine.

Hi Jim,
Thank you very much!! What is a good price on the corsa x-pipe and borla stingers? With the above mentioned mode, is it a absolute must to get headers? If so, other than the price, what are the differences?
Thanks again!

I would also help you do the install and I am in Boothwyn which is pretty close to West Chester. Unfortunately I am busy for the next few weekends but if you are willing to wait we can do it in my garage one weekend.

thank you. I just called the 'shop' and told them I will not pay more than an hour for the shifter. They charged me 4 hours for the vortex box (they had to cut the shroud) and to install the thermo and controller. Yes, they are probably taking advantage of me, but I will learn. Thank you for your offer with the stingers, etc..... I do not have them yet, but will definitely need all the help I can get. thanks again!
