Default Lloyd's mats

Just got the Lloyd's mats with the Z06 405HP emblem from West Coast Corvette. They are a lot nicer than the OEM mats. Almost hate to put my feet on them!

Nice mats but they don't seem to last. Mine look beat with only 5000 miles on them and I am easy on my cars and only drive in nice weather etc...

Mine are on the way. That's the first I have heard of durability issues.

I've had the Lloyd Floor Mats in the past and will not buy them again. They do not last. Yes, they look very nice when new. There are other floor mats out there that last longer. The one thing I especially didn't like was the emblem was embodied and glued on. The other floor mat companies emblems are embroidered on not glued.

Hi GURUDUDE2K -

I bought Stratmosphere mats - they have about 17k miles on them.

They are holding up well - I have only cleaned them once and the white in the flags is still white. The rubber backing is thicker than the Lloyds (just looked at Lloyds at Effingham...).

The edges are slightly fraying - with some light stringing. My mats are black with torch red edging and a nice C5 logo emboidered on them.

The grommets line up perfectly the fit of the mats is excellent.

I have no experience the Lloyd's mats. They are good looking mats and the logo was well incorprated. I have heard about the logo issue: glued-on as compared to the direct embroidered such as the Strats, and the logo looked durable enough to me. All in all, they looked well made. I think the Strat carpet is a little more tightly woven - Maggie made that observation at the MA Funfest.

I would likely still go with the Strats. JMO.

<EDITORIAL>
The best mats I have ever seen were made at Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories (BHMA) in the mid-late '80s. These mats had a 1/2" solid rubber backing and the logos were die cut, and sewn into the mat - these were some killer mats - but BHMA changed hands and I am not sure they even have mats anymore. Pity.</EDITORIAL>

best regards -

I have Lloyds too. Only a few months old. They look great but I can see they might lose their look. Even then I think they'd still look better than stock. :yesnod: I mean they are floor mats...replace those ones when they get ugly.

I just installed my Lloyd's yesterday. I love how they look!!!! I hope they last longer than 5K miles though. I was unaware that the emblem was glued on. I thought it was embroidered. I was so juiced until I read this thread. :nonod:

I have two sets of the Stratmosphere's, one for Shows and the other for Daily Driving. About 12,000 miles on the DD set and they look great with just occasional vacuuming.

I have the Lloyds for my Z06 and had them in my '69 also. In BRIGHT red. They sure are beautiful and plush and high quality and everything but... they won't hold up for daily-driver use. Your heels digging into the carpet will eventually wear down the pile some. Maybe it's just more noticeable in red.

Anyway, I use the factory mats for everyday driving and throw in the Lloyds for cruisin/showin.

Well, after all the posts, this sounds like the best idea. Also may use the OEMs for daily driving like someone said.

Thanks for the tips on the other mats for next time.

Apparently I am not up to speed on this mat question. I have never heard of Stratmosphere mats. Where can these be purchased at ? And can you see them before you order. I am in the mat decision stage at this time.

Hi ALLR RED -

http://www.stratmosphere.com/index.htm

Search the archived topics - do stratmosphere and mats - lots of good info alreay on the books -

I hope I didn't sound like I was knocking the Lloyds - I though they looked very nicely made when I recently saw them, I only have road-time with the Strats.

best regards -

Okay guys, here's my take...
I saw a pair of used Lloyd's, thought they looked like crap. They were used, and looked used, but it was an 02 vert, and he'd bought the mats for it...

I bought stratmosphere mats...not only were they top quality, but they come with a LIFETIME WARRANTY!
and the emblems are embroidered (not glued on like lloyds). I don't mean to come across as a bash, but in MY OPINION, the stratmosphere mats are leaps and bounds above the lloyds...your mileage may vary...

Well, I've been using the new Lloyd's mats for about a week and noticed how my heels mash down the carpet. I took one person's opinion and bought some clear mats to cover them for daily driving. I'll take them off on the weekend for cruising.

Sounds like the Stratosphere mats come highly recommended. I'll have to check them out next. Man.... I love this forum and the great tips you get here! Thanks to all who replied. :hurray:

Do the Strat mats come with the ZO6 405 HP emblem? Do they make a trunk mat?

Was about to order Lloyds, but did not know about the glued emblem.

Here is the Llyod's floor mat. Purchased at Corvettes of Houston for $74.95.

Here is the Llyod's floor mat covered from Walmart for $6.98 each. :D

And the rear Llyod's Mat -- it is for the convertible and covers the wells. About $110.

The logos look good and appear to be well made. :)

I have the Lloyd's mats but I keep towls over them.

I was not happy with the color. The black was not exactly the same shade as my 03 black carpet.
