hello all my corvette friends. I just came home from my 3 year tour in Germany, which included a lovely 6 month vacation in sunny Baghdad. Anyway.. I couldn't even remember my screen name on here and David help set me straight. Since I returned I purchaced a new toy. I'm now the proud owner of a stock ( for now ) 2003 Z06, Black with black and red interior. I love this thing. God she is fast. I'm thinking about putting the Borla XR-1 exaust on it. Any opinions?
Welcome back!! While the stock Z06 exaust does sound sweet, kind of exotic as a matter of fact. A set of Borlas will definately give you that good old Muscle Car sound. :flag
Welcome Back, It seems that all the aftermarket exhaust systems have their own different sounds and noise levels, I happen to enjoy the B&B Prt's with the Speedway tips. The car sounds awesome and the look is unbelievable. I suggest before you spend a lot of money, look and listen to as many as you can before you purchase. The are plenty of used exhaust systems on this site and it would be good to learn why these guys are selling? Bottom line, your sound and look of the car is an expression of your personality, whatever sounds good and looks good to you is what is important. Good luck... Once again, welcome home and enjoy that vette.. :chevy :hurray:
Thanks for the help guys. It's really good to be home, no place like the good ole USA!!! I have been doing some research on exaust systems. I found the car I bought while I was in Baghdad. Well my Dad kinda did all the looking. Since then I have been checking on different exausts. I'm a loud pipe kinda guy and that lead me to the XR-1s. I will keep you all posted.
Oh by the way, I selected the Black Sheep pic, I hope I didn't need to join a club first haha.
Welcome back, and thanks to YOU for serving your country!
Since you are in Columbus you might want to visit our local Ga. website as well, http://www.peachstateposse.com - if you want to see what your new toy will do we have some drag racing setup for the GaFBA Shoorout at SDR ( http://www.silverdollarraceway.com) for Sunday 12 Oct.
I got back to Ft. Campbell about three weeks ago on my way to Korea  and have been installing parts ever since. :D The UPS guy is starting to get tired of seeing me.
About an hour ago the B and B PRT exhaust went on.
Have fun with the car. Where were you working out of in Iraq?
I went with the speedway tips. They are different and after seeing them on a car at the ZO6 Fest I couldn't help myself. The system sounds great. I've got a Magnaflow X-pipe on the way, I can't wait to hear it then.
I'll just keep the UPS guys coming by until the wife yells "SSSTOPPPP!!"
I was in downtown baghdad, zones 8, 10, 13 and 14 W to those that know the area. Its really nice to get a warm welcome home. We saw alot of negative minded people on the news and I was unsure what my reception would be.
Awesome cat-back system, and one of the easiest ever to put on !! Took a total of 25 minutes.. and the sound, now that's what a vette is supposed to sound like !!! :smash: :chevy :flag

I was with 101st up in Mowsul, but we did a lot of work in Baghdad( in most of the zones). I was trying to figure out if I had worked with you, but I'm sure 12th Avn was your support for aviation. My brother is with 3-325th(Ft. Brag). We've sure shared the same dust. Enjoy driving the car.
