What battery do you suggest.
I recently purchased my first Corvette 02' Z06. I'm having the battery problem most of you have experienced, (dead after a week or so of not using). What is the next best thing?

Longevity wise, Optima is probably the answer, but the twisted engineer in me demands that this is a way to make the car lighter. I'd choose the 13.5 lbs battery that uses the same technology as the OE battery (AGM SLA). It is small and will not hold much reserve. It is more than able to crank higher compression engines like ours. The red top Optima weighs about 35 lbs or around there. The yellow top weighs even more. In any rate, both weigh more than the stock one.
But then again, most people don't care about weight reduction ;)

Looks like they think that as little as 5 lbs. might make a difference to a skilled driver.
BTW, Optima batteries are excellent. I've got a red top I bought used, ran it for three years, and its still OK although retired now.
