[Z06] Stock motor blown...anyone else have this problem?

Just found out the 20year old was from the FORD camp.....A ZO6 imposter. :D :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: .
I raced two stock C5s (a 99 and and 00) for 4 hours at 130mph in Limerock. Both cars have around 49K now with only 1 problem. The cig lighter rattles.
I am sure there are exceptions to the rule and once in a while a motor blows (The z06 that was built on Friday at 5pm on an upcoming 3 day weekend). Although the kid may have blown his engine, I find it humorous that everyone gangs up as if their cars are trash. The Z06 is a great beast. SXXX happens to all cars.. Ferraris, Lambos, etc. Lets all :grouphug:

Yeah, both my Coupe and Z06 really suck. I have to get my motor rebuilt every other week. I even have my own reserved bay at the Chevy dealership entitled "Marc's rebuild corner". The dealer keeps the costs low by using Chinese Goodwrench knockoff parts. :rolleyes:
Both cars have been run at track events multiple times, with no maintenance requirements other than oil changes. The Coupe has 28K miles and the Z has 7.5K. They never overheat even in 100F weather. In fact, these are the most reliable, trouble-free sportscars I have owned, and I have owned plenty in the past.

Just for the record, I had what I consider to be a factory quality problem. A defective valve lifter quide was installed that eventually ruined the camshaft and lifter.
The engine did NOT blow up. It just developed a valvetrain noise, which the dealer investigated and fixed under warranty.
Otherwise, the chevy V8 is solid. :)

Mine blew with 484 mi and had never been to Redline :mad However GM put in a brand new motor with the revised ring package. Now has 8k with no oil consumption at all and runs great :cheers:
