Default Halltech Stinger Intake System-All New Low Cost Intake!

Halltech Stinger Intake System-All New Low Cost Intake! The Tunnel Ram Air PaK intake is probably the most expensive intake system on the market, but delivers major power for those willing to do a little tuning.

Halltech now has an all new Stinger Intake, which utilizes the Tunnel Bridge from the Tunnel Ram Air Pak, but eliminates the lower TRAP section, and comes with an all new high flow Warhead II filter. Like its big brother, the Stinger, outflows the stock Z06 airbox by just over 20%.

This is a completely underhood induction system, but its preserves the integrity of the engine bay, with a OEM look, but with the added growl of Halltech power on tap. Better fuel mileage will also benefit the pocketbook. Available in LS1 Black, or Z06 Red.

Introductory pricing for 1 week only to this forum only for $349.00. ($399.00 retail) You must register as a forum member on our site for this price level to show up on you screen.

After 10-19-2003, you will need to order from our distributors.

To order: http://www.corvettec5.com/store/?pag...a54889627204d8

Compare this pricing to the Blackwing and an aftermarket air bridge and you will see the price is just right.

WE PAY THE SHIPPING COSTS THIS WEEK ONLY

Still too high for a filter and a plastic tube.

(just my personal opinion)

Sucks that our cars say CORVETTE on them. They love to mark up these prices for us lucky vette owners..... :seeya

I would like to see the comparison between HT and a Zip Tie Mod.

It is the performance you are buying, not the plastic material. If you want looks and performance, we have a carbon fiber version of the same induction system, for $100 more.

Carbon fiber is used by cars that say Ferrari, Lambroghini, and Saleen.

Just trying to introduce another product that promotes a heathly bang for the buck. :)

We all know the limited performance of the aftermarket filters. I have an aftermaket unit as well.

But the real fact is; it is what it is a filter and plastic tube.

Jim: Thanks very much for sharing. I'm always glad to review your latest offering for Corvette tweakers. Please continue to post whatever new projects that you work on. Many of us are very interested in reviewing your products and findings, whether we may go forward to purchase your products or not. BTW, I run a "sidewinder" on my 02 Z06, and am pleased with it so far.
Mr. Cleveland et. al.: Please refrain from speaking on this matter.. Please do not bash vendors that have something to offer. It is not merely a plastic tube and generic filter - it is a low-volume esoteric specialty offering that must be marked up fairly highly in order for small specialty vendors like Mr. Hall to make ends meet. If you truly feel that you can duplicate this setup with any ol' plastic tube and generic filter, possibly you should visit Home Depot. If you feel that Mr. Hall is making million$$ on plastic tubes and generic filters, then by all means get in yourself and make some millions. Or lastly, if you agree with my point, please thank Mr. Hall for participating on this forum. Note that many vendors and manufacturers will not post on internet forums because of incessant bashing.
Happy trails. :)

Anthony, have you ever purchased software on a plastic disc? As far as the performance gains, they are real, repeatable, and make a dramatic difference in performance. Here is a forum member's own experience from the application of Jim's piece of plastic, and Lou's chunk of steel:

"Last week I added the Halltech TRAP intake, LGM longtubes and had the car tuned via LS1 Edit. It did 387rwhp/380rwtq sae. Bone stock the best I could do was 12.6@114mph with a 2.0 60ft. Tonight I ran the following after adding the above mods and also on my stock F1's.
1. 12.123@119.218mph 1.979 60ft
2. 12.124@119.376mph 1.959 60ft
3. 12.186@118.137mph 1.929 60ft

I think it's a pretty good gain. Next week I'm going to run the car without the front license plate cover so the air filter is exposed."

WOW!

First of all I was not bashing anyone. I was only stating my opinion as mentioned above. You are obviously very new to the forum in which I want to welcome you. I was not out of line by saying I thought the unit was an expensive plastic tube and filter. (Again just an opinion and not a bash.) I actually do think the Halltech is a very nice intake. But it does seam to be pricey ( MY OPINION ONLY )
I probably paid way too much for my Vararam. But this is just part of having a Corvette as mentioned above. I am really very sorry that I some how offended you.
This is my second C5 and I am still amazed of the prices for performance parts. I remember the good ole days of owning 5.0 Mustangs where a nice intake was 150 bucks and a nice set of headers was another 150 or so. It will take the C5 a long while before performance goodies are more affordable.... (just my opinion)

Twice......you stated your opinion twice in the first 4 posts in this thread, that could be considered bashing a vendors product by some members.

Hi Anthony,
For whatever it's worth, the "Please refrain..." was automatically generated by watchdog software when I actually typed something else. :D
I'm not very new...registered over 2 years ago...but I'm more of a lurker than a poster. I'm also a former 5.0 fanatic, and I'm in agreement with you that Vette parts seem overpriced compared to the awesome 5.0 aftermarket. Could be a supply and demand thing. And I'm not really offended by your posts, I just really appreciate it when vendors and manufacturers join our discussions. Art Hyde (top Ford Mustang exec a few years ago) used to post on the Corral until a barrage of bashers ran him off. Just my opinion - hope to convince you of the same. :seeya

tampaz06,

No harm done here.
I am actually looking for another 5.0 as a daily driver. I just want so many things like header and maybe a cam for my Z06. But man, these parts are just incredibly high. I was really just venting a little on the prices of parts for these cars in general. I did not mean to drag Halltech under the bus. My true opologies!!!!!!!!!!
I do really like the Halltech with the red tube that matches the Z06 colors under the hood. Very nice!!!

I've been running a similar setup for about a month now and it really woke up my car. I just pulled the elbow off of my T1 and mounted a Z1R race filter directly to the MAF.

We're able to do a carbon fiber version also, using the same filter.
