Default Electrical Gremlins

My electrical gremlins have returned with a vengence.

I have previously posted about memory seat issues; seat position not remembered, climate controls and audio not remembered, seat would not go back for ease of exit nor return when starting, hood and trunk lights would not dim after 15 minute delay, all on an intermittent basis.

Yes the vehicle is properly programmed so please don't suggest I am using the wrong key or the Info Center isn't properly programmed. All have been checked by the dealer and settings are correctly entered.

The dealer could not resolve it totally even after changing the control module. I still have incidents where the hood and trunk lights do not go out and the seats won't retract or return about 10% of the time.

Now the car will not start. Yes the battery is fully charged. Insert key, turn to start, instruments light-up, needles swing to right and then back to rest and nothing, nada, zippo. Hood and trunk light stay on until closed. The windows won't work but door locks work.

Anyone with a similar problem AND a solution or potential solution.

Please none of I have the same unless you can provided ideas or resolution. Also I am well versed in Lemmon Law and do not need to go down that path, so no replies on that subject. I like the car and want to find a permanent fix as opposed to battling the dealer and GM at this point in time.

TIA

Whenever I hear of a variety of seemingly unrelated electrical problems, the first thing I suspect is a bad ground connection somewhere.

They looked at that in the past and could not find a bad connection, although that doesn't mean it wasn't there before and is still there under some conditions.

The best news is the car is at the dealership showing all the symptoms I have mentioned and they can see first hand and cannot discredit the facts. At this point they are as puzzled as I am.

I would look for a ground that has corrosion or is loose at attaching point. Then check the ground wires for a cut, break or pinch that is causing these intermittent problems. It just does not seem like a haunting with what you described, so an exorism is not called for.

Great, I thought we were going to have a sub-discussion on how best to get rid of the gremlins and determine the best exorcism ritual.

BTW I spoke with the dealer late today who confirms that all the modules are loaded with error codes and they have just started trying to understand the codes and determine the cause.

Still  :(
