Default Where do I start with MODS?

Just bought my Zo6 (blue) 2 days ago and do not know the first thing about corvettes or mods. Thank goodness I found the forum. What do some of you pros suggest I modify first? Thanks

How fast do you want to go?

Start with a blackwing or vortex intake, and some LG longtube headers.

Do a search on intakes, exhaust, headers and tuning. There is a lot of valuable information already out there (some topics beaten to death actually). These cars respond fairly well to aftermarket cold air intakes (I prefer Vararam), headers (FLP, TPIS, Stainless Works and LG all are good products with different attributes) and for tuning I recommend LS1Edit. When you get the tuning consider a lower thermostat and turning the fans on earlier.

Now if you want to go serious fast for the least amount of money get a 100 shot nitrous system and leave everything else alone. Or go with a blower motor, or go with a stroker like I did. My point here is how much $$$ do you want to spend and how will you use the car (street only, drag strip, road racing) as the answers to these questions, only with your RWHP goal will help shape the answer.

You have to answer two ?'s first.
How fast do you want to go?
How much money do you want to spend?
After you answer those two ?'s it will be much easier to steer you in the right direction.
Congrats on your new purchase. Modding the car is almost as much fun as driving it. :auto:

My .02

take some driving lessons first, this car is fast enough, right out of the box, to kill you, and I'm not kidding.

check out http://www.drivingevents.com

I in no way mean to insult you or your drivng ability. What you have to understand is that this car will outperform 95% of the cars on the market today, and you do not have to touch a single freaking thing.

Learn how and WHEN to take a 45 mph curve at 90, a 25 mph curve at 60,...learn how much space you need to bring your car to a dead stop from 70mph, without screeching your rear tires, with the simultaneous understanding of what your a.b.s. system is going to do. Learn how to use your brakes & steering wheel to distribute weight instead of stopping. Learn where entry, apex, and exit points are on on/off ramps...how to feather and dump your clutch. When and when not to open up your motor, what tire screech is telling you about the car's limitations, how to short shift, power shift...etc..etc..It will not only make you a better driver, but when you decide to modify your vehicle, you'll be prepared for and will most of all, apreciate all of the excess power it will generate.

good luck! :)

What the heck, you should just throw in a 427 with a forged bottom end and a vortech supercharger, then put on some HRE's and tub it with 345's on the back!

That should get you started.

First day I got mine I lowered it and swapped the wheels out.
After that shifter, shocks, brakes, intake, exhaust. :yesnod:
