[Z06] Garage build update....

I applied the color coat of my UCoat-it UFleckAF kit over the last few days -
Here are a couple of pics -

It came out pretty good it think. It is beige with the "heritage" flakes (fleck).
The total for this floor will be right at $750 (approx $1 a square foot).

The garage is complete outside except for the gutters - the siding is done.
The plumber is coming out today to run the gas and water lines and install the water heater and floor pump/manifold.
I received my lift from Autolifters and unloaded it into the "old" garage to wait until the new one is completed.
All that is left is the electrical and the drywall/finishing - and the slab in front.
In other words , the mod parties are about to begin!!!

The rear loft will not be open - it really doesn't have much room in it - but the front one will have an access panel so I can stash stuff (but that is what the other side of the garage will be for...)
The plumber is there today - hot and cold water (softened of course), and the gas lines / water heater installed today.
I am also converting to natural gas today - goodbye LP tank...
I have you down for the first official mod - but you gotta help set up the lift...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
After going through a winter and everything our floor looks great still but in a couple places it has blistered because of the hot tires. I've seen a new formula out there that resists hot sticky tires. Does yours resist hot sticky tires?
I used the Rust-Oleum think in a kit, with the floor bleaching stuff and all.

Sun King - The floor was easy to apply - since I do not have drywall yet, I did not have to tape around the bottom and I could be "sloppy" in my application technique as the finish work on the walls wil take car of that.
I had to go over the floor twice with muratic acid solution, scrubbing it with a stiff floor broom.
Then I flushed the floor with lots of water to clean up the acid residue.
There are three separate coats applied -
The first coat is just for bonding - it is a three solution mix (base, activator and bonding solution. It rolls on great - if the temperature is in the low 70's.
The second coat is just the color coat and activator - you roll out an area, and then throw the flecks up in the air to "snow" down. The flakes stick to the color coat.
The final coat is ust a gloss - it needs ketone to clean up, the first two were water based...I am heating up the garage or the final coat as I type this...
Bottom line, it was fairly easy to apply to brand new 'crete.
Gene - The UCoatIt kit is warranteed for life against hot tire pickup and blistering etc...we shall see. They do state that you should not burn your tires while on the coating...
The Rustoleum was a lot less pricey - the UCoatit was right at $750 for my garage and the application is a bit more involved than the R-Oleum.
We will all know soon my floor holds up - I am going to LIVE in that garage...
