[Z06] vin number, need help

Default vin number, need help
How can you tell from the vin# if it is a Z06, are there any numbers to look for, thanks for your help :)

8th digit of vin............S is a Z06......

Corvette184 is correct with the following addition.

Technically it stands for the type of engine:
S = 350 cubic inch, 405 HP, LS6
G = 350 cubic inch, 350 HP, LS1

Just curious. What is the letter for the 2001 Z06 since it is 385 HP? :confused:

The 2001:
G=350 ci, 350 hp (LS1)
S=350 CI 385 hp (LS6)
