Default TRAC/ACT handling

What is the purpose and should it be on or off?

That depends on what your doing at the time. If it's pouring down rain like it loves to do where you live, then leave everything active. If your on a road course, put it in COMP mode. If you are drag racing on the street it's a good idea to leave it in COMP mode. If your at the drag strip where there is no crown, and everyone has laid down glue, turn it all off and drive it like you stole it.

I had a 97 with just Traction Control and it was very intrusive. On my 03 Z the TC and AH are hardly noticed on the street. Just Saturday I pulled out onto a busy street and had the car sideways with both rear tires spinning the TC came on about the time I lifted. In my 97 I would have been sitting with a dead engine right in front of a bunch of traffic. In Competition Mode on the track I have never had AH interfere with me and it has helped at a couple of autocrosses where I got too heavy footed.
