[Z06] Does anyone know about this RA mishap?
This allegedly happened last Sunday, but I don't know any details. Is this person OK? http://www.boostaholic.com/tmp/Road_...rolled_z06.jpg
IDK that is hosted from http://www.boostaholic.com, Andi B's website. I know he has a 04 yellow z06. I just emailed him to see what the deal was. I am betting thats his yellow Z in the background of that pic. I know he was at RA last weekend racing. I think he has a black set of LT4 wheels on his ride though. Yea thats a terrible site.
here is a link off his site of his ride.

:iagree: Sorry to see this happen - and yes it was last weekend (Sunday to be exact). It does show the advantage of a strong roof.

Driver was fine and thats all that matters. :yesnod:
Yes....I am fine. My neck was a little stiff but otherwise ok. My heart is still broken however. I am glad my dad was late showing up that day or he may have been in there with me. Road Atlanta is an incredible place and I will return, with the respect she is due.

Bro, I was in the silver Z06 that you and the black vette just passed after T5. So that put me the next car behind you when the incident occured. The best feeling I had all day is when we stopped ahead and saw you crawl out.
Glad you are ok! :yesnod:

Last time I was at RA an s2000 began to oversteer comming off 7, thried to correct and hook spun into the outside wall, wasn't pretty. Are you going to file a claim w/ your insurance? You weren't racing, there were no times, and it was a driver's education event you know... (btw there's no 7 a or b I think, it's just 7. The tight turn leading onto the back staight)
When I was at the panoz school I was all over the curbing comming out of 10B (had just ridden w/ one of the pro drivers and was following the line he took) well what worked for him didn't work for me. All the bumping send the back end out to the right and before I could react the car spun. They taught us "if you spin, both feet in" Your car will continue to spin in the direction you are going which is usually down the middle of the track. It's when you try to fight it too much that bad things happen. We also learned that you have only one very short window inwhich to correct a spin condition, after that give up and both feet in blah blah. Maybe this will help next time you're out there. Or maybe you're a pro at this an know everything I'm saying. If that's the case then you already know what I'm saying.

No matter how experienced you are as a road racer RA demands respect - i.e. building up speed with experience. Every track day seems to claim 2-3 cars, many times it is people not familiar with the track.
You are right about insurance, most will cover (once) since it is not a times event and is considered driver training.
The full phrase BTW, as I was taught some time ago is, "in a spin, both feet in - when in doubt, both feet out".
Les
PS: As others have said, I am glad you got out OK - I would have needed a change in underware for sure!

Actually, the only thing "solid" in my shorts were several chunks of glass. Not a pro by any stretch and I do appreciate all the imput I can get. My expierence is limited to alot of autocrossing and some roadcourse hot lapping At Mid Ohio, Gateway, and Putnam Park. This was the first time at RA and first time in the Z on Hoosiers. It was awsome while it lasted! :D
