Default Moving to LA, need to replace intermediate pipe....

Guys,

I am driving the Z out to Los Angeles a few days after Christmas and really need to get an OEM intermediate pipe. I have the TPIS headers and they wont pass CARB out there, so I need to put my OEM manifolds back on. I have the manifolds but the intermediate pipe had to be cut just before the cats for the headers to be installed.

The car is currently in NJ and I will be here till Monday, then flying back to NJ next weekend, then flying back out there until the 21st when I will be home till the 27th. I have a truck and can come pick it up if its in NJ. After that I will be driving it out to LA and would have to get one out there, but I wont have anything but the Z with me.

If you guys know of anyone that has the factory intermediate pipe (the one with the cats in it for those that might not know) that goes from the exhaust manifolds to the cat back at the rear axle, I would really appreciate it if you would direct them my way.

FYI I think the new Kooks LT headers and cats are CARB certified!

Kooks is a very well known header maker. My dad knew about them b/c he had them on his hot rods back in the day. They're very popular w/ the f-body crowd and just made headers for the c5! They look amazing and I'm probably getting a set for x-mas. They're full SS and have flange connections instead of slip fit. Also, there's GP going on right now! Check out that new vendor LS1 Speed, and I think LAPD might have them. Do a forum search for Kooks and the threads will come up about the GP and all.

Oh man, $1600 is something I cannot afford to spend right now with the move and all. :cry

Maybe get ahold of Shawn at LAPD - they are a Kooks dealer & running a GP, so maybe they can come up with an OEM unit between now & the 1st of the year.

Depending on who does the visual you may not have to change a thing. Are you positive that a DMV station will need to do your smog?

Recently took off the factory Z06 exhaust from the manifolds back to the cats with the factory cats and H pipe to install LG long tube headers and free flow Random cats. The exhaust had under 5000 miles on it. Have stored it in case I or who ever were to buy the car ever want to go back to completely stock. Also have the Z06 stock exhaust manifolds, Speedline wheels, rotors, air cleaner, shifter, floor mats and antenna. Would consider selling the exhaust and the other items depending on what they are worth. Would have to be picked up or shipped out of the Chicago Il. area.
