Educated Question looking for an Educated Response
I have the recently aquired 2004 with the Magnusson, cam etc etc I posted a few pics a while back.
I have a couple really big money races coming up and I am curious to find out what peoples results have been with plumbing a nitrous setup with the magnusson. I want to remain within a 80% safety zone so maybe 75-100 shot total. What is the best system/implementation. Any suggestions/ideas? Warnings? I am familiar with nitrous as it took my 93 Cobra into a 10.60 back a few years ago at ennis. However, I know crap about the Z06's motor and how frail it is. Help gentlemen...thank you
Re: Educated Question looking for an Educated Response (icyhotz06)
My opinion (and people may disagree with me on this) is that the stock internals are good for about 500-550 rwhp. The pistons are the weakest component of the reciprocating assembly, followed by the connecting rods.
Re: Educated Question looking for an Educated Response (icyhotz06)
The weak link in these motors are the hyperpathetic pistons. With excellent tuning and a 50 -75 shot I think you will be OK, as the nitrous can be used to cool the inlet charge. That said you will be on the hairy edge, and IMO you would be better served to leave the nitrous alone until you get forged pistons (and rods for that matter).
