Does anyone know when the next batch of Z16's are going to start up again?
I'm going to call my dealer in the mourning ,but if anyone knows now I won't have to wait.
Thanks
Hey Z06_Nut. So they still haven't resumed production?! I thought it seemed like some dealers were starting to have one show up. I feel your pain. Hang in there, it will be worth the wait.
I also have heard all this, and don't know what to make of it. I just bought a Z16 (comemrative editon). I therefore hope they are limited.
What I do know for fact is, I called several Chevy dealers that sell many Corvettes and they were all given a total they would get. For example one dealer told me they were alotted 16 Z16's, they had delivered one, sold 11 and were told to stop taking orders for the final 4, because they did not know if they would be able to finish them all. I was able to locate 9 total, I'm sure there are more out there but after many calls, no one would let me preorder.
Then it happened and mabye I fell prey to my own delusions mabye they will make 1600 comemrative editons as I was told. I came across one brand new and was able to buy it. I had to pay MSRP, but got a very good trade in on my 96LT4 CE.
I was told there would be 1600 Z16's and 300 would be ZO6's, but because of problems with painting the carbon fiber hood and getting the strips correct ( the Zo6 is the only version of the Z16 with strips), they would not be able to make the 300.
Bottom line I don't think anyone will know for sure until 2004 production stops, but it is supposed to stop early because of the C6.
So who knows I do love mine and the paint with stripes and polished wheels is really nice.
