The mechanic at the shop told me today the the GM bezel for the PIAA upgrade doesnt work and he had to do another set up. For those that installed the PIAA's, did you use the switch from the factory coupe or make your own set up?
Re: SWITCH DOESNT WORK FOR PIAA INSTALL! (rbartick)
So what problem do you think he was talking about. From what he said, it was the switch itself. There was now power outlet to the button? I'm just trying to figure out what to tell him so I make sure he puts in the factory switch.. :flag

Is it just because I dont know what he's talking about or the post doesnt show how to conect the switch? Do the PIAA's come on when you unlock the car the coupe's? I'm going to email him that link but I just dont want to hear from him that it doesnt say anything about hooking the PIAAS up to the switch!

You replace the Z06 trunk switch with a Trunk/Fog light switch from a Coupe/Vert. You can get the switch from an online GM dealer for about $30. You unplug your current trunk-only switch and plug in the new Trunk/Fog switch. The new switch set plugs right in. The new switch will then operate the Fog light relay that is currently sitting in your underhood power distribution center. That is all it will do.
You lift up the power distribution center and wire the trigger terminal of the new PIAA relay to the output of the stock fog light relay. The wire you need to tap is purple and it is right underneath the fog light relay. Do not break the circuit, solder into the circuit leaving the circuit complete. Seal the solder connection with heat shrink tubing.
Do the PIAA's come on when you unlock the car the coupe's?
Yes, they operate just like a Coupe/Vert setup. The little light in the new GM switch will also illuminate. If you do not follow my instructions and you break the circuit under the power distribution center the little light in the switch will not illuminate.
