[Z06] Sylvania Silverstar Bulbs??
The stock headlights are ok, I was just use to the HID from my previous car, so you can imagine its a HUGE change. I figure that upgrading the bulbs would be fairly simple and hopefully worth while since HID upgrade kits are a bit pricey (I can find better ways to put $1500+ into this car)
I installed them and they are brighter than the stock blubs. I did one bulb and compared it to the stock. I could see it was a whiter light so I'm happy. I have factory HID in my daily driver and they are MUCH brighter than the Sylvania bulbs. Hey, the bulbs were only $19.95 each. No way can you really expect HID performance for $40.
Well, I guess it's safe to say that the bulb change is worth the 40 bucks? I just don't want to go through the trouble and then see no change! HID would be nice, but I can't justify $1500.
I went with PIAA's...guaranteed for the life of the car. Also, I purchased them online from Automotive Accessories Connection, Inc......saved over $40 for the set of 4 compared to other places, and only $5.95 for shipping for all 4 bulbs. The stock bulbs are just about the same color as my Z06: yellow....how cheep can you get for a $50K+ car. This vendor carries many different brands, all at less cost than I have found at other places, including local discount part stores & they belong to BBB.

For few more smakers, go with the PIAA instead of the fake blue blubs. Most of those $15 - $20 bulbs, or "80 smacker" per set bulbs are not true high intensity & you will be throwing your smackers away. And, if you get stopped for having those cheep blue bulbs, you'll get a ticket unless you can prove that the blue bulbs are OEM.

There was a post on the forum from a new vendor selling the HID set up, 2 bulbs (low beam) 440.00 complete and 4 bulbs (add hign beam) 880.00. If you are interested do a search.
which piaa's???
4700 k or 7500 k?
i heard that the 7500k was really blue...
i would rather go with the white-ish looking bulbs.. other than swapping to hid, any ideas?

I put 'em in, and am about to swap 'em out. Since 2 sets of lows and high beams total for $80 from AutoZone, I thought I would give it a whirl. They really don't much by way of lighting up the road, so I'm actually going to go with the Euro headlight kit from pfyc. LAPD carries them for the same price as well: http://www.thelapd.com/Merchant2/mer...e_Code=thelapd

PIAA doesn't make the "really blue" bulbs. If you want blue, go to Walmart & get the APC or GE $10 bulbs. The PIAA bulbs are DOT legal & the one's that I purchased are extreme white. The bulbs, however, have a blue tint to them

Are the Euro lights legal in the US?
