I may head up to Nebraska in a few weeks to see my mom when she heads there from florida to visit all my other family members. My vehicle choices are limited to those in my sig, my wife drives our 4x4 tahoe but she doesn't drive my cars so it is not an option for me to take it since she will not be going.
Re: How do the eagle supercar's work in the snow? (JimAgain)
I live in Ft. Campbell Ky. I've driven once or twice in the snow, very scary! I now have Kumhos, much better in the snow and rain.
I'd rent a car. Make a time of it and rent a Caddy (or something you don't normally drive) to cruise in. It will make you appreciate the Z even more

Driving in anything more than a slight dusting is near impossible. I've had the chance to drive a few Vettes in the snow (not mine) and the hardest thing is just to get the car moving from a stop. Let out the clutch and give it a little gas and the tires start spinning with the back end coming around. Its not fun.:nonod:
Either rent a car, fly there and then rent a car once you get there, or just stay at home.

I had a similar choice to make early this year about a drive to Colorado. I bought a set of Pilot Sports for the trip and had no trouble. I basicly stayed on the plowed Interstates, etc. Good luck if you go but I would definitely change tires. :yesnod:

I work in Wisconsin and live in central florida. I take the Z home to Florida before the snow comes and bring it back after the last chance for snow has passed. I got caught in snow once and that was enough for me. In a word.....rent.

I have driven my 03 Z06 twice in less than 2" of snow/ice and it was a blast. The car really works well. I suggest that those who are not excellent drivers might learn a thing or two about driving if they try in the snow. I would not suggest going out in much traffic. My car is lowered so It won't go in any snow much over 3".

Try it out first and have fun!
Ya I had my '00 in the snow quite a few times and it worked great, I purposely took it in the snow for fun sliding. But with the electronics on AH did an amasing job of keeping straight so had to shut AH off to slide. The nice thing about in Texas is when it does snow or ice there is almost no one on the road so you are open to have fun.
I have lived in Michigan, Nebraska and Virginia and have plenty of snow driving experience and have always found it fun.

The S/C's are intended for warm weather, dry track use. For snow, different tires or a different car are definitely in order. Clearance issues aside, they handle fine with the appropriate rubber. Put S/C's on a 4X4 and it'd go nowhere, too.
