How many here have had any engine damage?
Regardless of if it was your own fault or GM's
Im not really looking for anything to do with mods
but has anyone blown their motor or floated the vavles?
I have seen the one thread about the blown motor, but I was wondering if anyone here has had problems with their LS6.
BTW my Z06 was completely problem free and I loved it every second that I had it, and I will have another one someday!
Just wondering now that they have been around for 4 model years if anyone has had any major problems.

i just bought an 01 Z06 a mo ago with only 4400 mi on it-talking to my nephew who drives prof for a trans am team and has done GM testing , he thought the first few hundred had the"ring " prob..but other than that-they are great and mine was built may 01 and sold late in sept..no probs with it so far-used about a qt of oil in the last 1200 mi i put on it.

None.
15,000 miles and I do a redline blasts through the gears a couple of times a week. Went from 5th to 4th (instead of 6th) one time doing 150--got on the clutch pretty quick though. Hit the rev limiter a couple of times early on, but none since I learned to drive the car the right way.

I've driven my Z06 very hard almost 11,000 miles and no engine problems to report. I've done autocrossing, high speed road course racing, and hard canyon driving. Every mile has been a blast - this car is soooo much fun!! :D
