[QUOTE]The 1 to 4 shift light will still come on when the right parameters are met, although a few folks have said they did not get the light anymore.
Dave
:iagree: My light will still come on but the shift can be made from 1st to 2nd normally now.
Installing the CAGS bypass will only disable the 1-4 solenoid. The light will still come on. The only way to disable the light, which will also disable the solenoid, is to use a Tech2.
There are several parameters which must be met for the light (cags) system to engage which might be why some lights aren't lighting:
1) Vehicle speed between 15-19mph
2) Engine coolant greater than 171 degrees.
3) Barometer reading greater than 76kPa (22.48" HG)
4) Accelerator position is less than 26%
5) Speed must reach 0 mph to reset CAGS

Re: CAGS Installation (sliderhss)
You can eliminate the light with LS1Edit. You set the CAGS enable temp to a temp that will never be reached. I set mine to 250 degrees F and I do not get a CAGS light anymore.
OK, I got my CAGS eliminator installed and thought I would post a few comments.
Number 1..... I cant believe that I did not do this months ago or for that matter the last 3 LS1 Trans AMs that I have owned. What a difference!
It just seems like my car shifts better now. Even though 90% of the time I was able to control the shifting it was the 10% of the time when I wasnt trying that pissed me off. (Going from 1st to 4th)
Anyway.... as far as the skip shift light goes.... everyone was right!!!!!
Sometimes the light comes on and sometimes it does not. I practiced making the light come on before I had the CAGS installed and I was always able to make it come on when I wanted to.
Now it does not always come on even when it would have without the CAGS installed???? Strange.....
Anyway it works great with or without the flakyness of the light coming on or not.
Technically, you should still get the 1 to 4 shift light. I've installed CAGS on both my 96 LT4 and 04 Z06 and still get the light. But, others are reporting they don't. Go figure...
