Default Nurburgring reference

I read on another section fo the Forum that a 2004 Z06 turned in a 7:56 lap at the Nurburgring. Can someone point me to a reference that would document this? Thanks.

Is that fast? I would have thought a Z06 would've run faster than a M3 CSL, which ran a 7:50. Not trolling, just curious.

I would hope so for 5x the price.

I was reading some info about the M3 CSL and is not quicker than a Z06 or an GT3.

In Autocar magazine it did 0-60 in the exact same time as the regular M3 and up to 100 mph it was just 0.6 sec faster than the regular M3.

One intresting note is the tires that the M3 CSL uses, there are Semi-Slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup....

We all know the difference that tires can make in a car....

If the M3 CSL does 7:50 a Z06 with this tires will do less than that...... :chevy

Anything under 8 min for a street car (stock!) at Nurburgring is amazing and rarely done. I used to have the list for cars tested there in 2004 but I can't find it just now. Will post later if I locate it. The only car that beat the 04 Z06 was the 996 GT2 (I believe $190,000 price tag) and the GT3 dialed in an identical time to the Z06. Now, I'm sure not every car in the world was tested and there are probably a few other exotics out there that would best the Z06, but the point is that time is damn fast. I haven't seen that fast a time recorded for the M3 CSL. Not saying it's wrong, just first I've heard of it.

Yeah for me 7:50 for the M3 CSL with just 360hp is way too fast, these slick tires help a lot in the cornering grip but on the straights a Z06 will smoked it......

Looks like the fastest time there is for the Carrera GT 7:30

I have heard that a MB SLR will do in the high 7:30's

From the GT2 i have read that its time is 7:44....
