Default Header Tuning????

I am planning on either adding some LG or stainless workz header to my 03 Z06. Is it necessary to have the car tuned or should I purchase a handheld(Hypertech, Diable, etc...)?

You don't HAVE to have the car tuned, but if you want optimum performance get a good wideband tune from LS1Edit on a dyno. If you are planning future mods save up and do them all at once and get the tuning done once.

Personally I would not spend the money on any mail order tuning, including the one's you mentioned.

I agree. To get the benefit from the headers you need to be tuned for them. A "canned" tune really would not likely to be "right". If the tune came from the header manufacturer who had already done tons of testing, then maybe it would work. But still, every individual engine is a little different and local conditions are different, so overall you will be better off with a custom tune.
But, do everything to plan to do first so the tune can adjust for all your changes.
