[Z06] HUD Shift Light, is there a problem?

HUD Shift Light, is there a problem?
When I turn the car on I see the shift light flashig, is this letting me know that there is a problem or that its there? Also I have never seen it go off and I have taken it to the rev limeter.

Don't know the answer to your problem, but I will tell you that my light only comes on when I get close to th rev limiter. It has never flashed before.

As I recall it should illuminate at 6300 rpm. At that point, I'm generally watching the road, and listening to the engine to know when to shift. I like using my ears more than my eyes to decide when to shift.
