Default Build Date +

Had a 2001 coupe & just got a 2004 Z06 in black. Can we still get the build date on the forum. Also what a difference between the 2. Also noticed that the rear speakers on the Z06 sound much better then on my 01 coupe, they seem more full range than the 01 which sounded muffled & flat. Picked it up about 180 miles from me last & did not follow the breakin as per manual in that I did have it at 70mph but varied down to 55, 65, etc. I know the manual state max 55 first 500 miles. Hope I did no harm.

Also meant to add have they changed the battery for 04, if I remember I thought my 01 had side terminals where my 04 has top ones. Thanks!!

Steve,

Congrats on your new Z.

I don't think you did any damage.

Enjoy.

Pedro

Thanks for the reply, one thing I don't remember on my 01 was is that just as I start the 04 Z06 there is a short less then a second grind noise in the rear as the motor starts & the clutch is still depressed as it happens as soon as the motor starts..

Look at the card on the inside of the driver's side door. It lists the build year and month.

The rear speakers on the Z06 are smaller than the rear speakers in the coupe. I am surprised to hear that they sound better in the Z06. Maybe there was something wrong with the stereo in your coupe.
