Whats the best way to decrease interior noise from the exhaust? I have a ZO6 and wondered if a cargo divider would help or any other advice. Thanks,Buzz
I have an 03 Z06 and now I have virtually zero interior resonance.
I have a high quality 2 piece partition made from MDF and it made a huge difference on its own. I also used a product called LCOMP which is a sound dampening material that is much easier to install than Dynamat or Brown Bread.
I pulled all of the carpet out but left the seats. I cut and placed the LCOMP under all carpet. You cant even tell its there but it sure helps the road noise.
The partition makes a huge difference because of its perfect placement to block exhaust resonance. I am an audiophile and I am very picky about noise interfering with my audio!
A partition will go a long way. There are also sound-deadening materials like LCOMP that you can have installed under the carpet. You should do a search on this forum. Both have been discussed a number of times within the last several months. Good luck.
