Hi guys! A few questions. I am in the process of looking for a Z06 (probably an '01 for my price range). I want to know how many of you drive yours daily and if so have you had any problems? Would it be worth the extra money for an extended warranty? Would I just void the warranty with mods like bolt on's?
Any feedback is appreciated!
Re: How much do you drive your Z06? (BlueThunderousZ06)
Its was a bit nippy and drizzly this morning. That little bit of wetness on the roads kept my baby in for the day. Forcast for tommorrow looks nice 68 and sunny. :auto:
I have a 2003 Z 1785 miles . I drive it daily and have had no problems. I just look forward evey day to going to work (and its not because of my job) and driving home each day. The car is nothing short of amazing. I live in Arkansas and the waether here permits me to drive her every day I want to. Kinda hard keeping her looking real sharp but warm, days she gets washed. Its garage kept and I park on a parking deck at work so its always under cover. Great car.. Good luck in your search and purchase.
Well I have had my car for 4 months and put 1500 miles on it for a grand total of 4023, so I guess I suck. If it wasn't winter here and the car wasn't in the shop getting headers put on I would drive it.
I do however have a dyno time set for Feb 7th, so if nothing else I will get to drive it that day.
im crying now cuz i havent touched it in almost three weeks now - damn jersey weather. but i still would never move to an area where there was no snow.
I have an 03 with 22,000 miles on it. I drive it every day including in the snow unless the snow is over 3". We don't get many snows over 3" in South Carolina. I can't weight for a Blue Devil or an ME412.
Re: How much do you drive your Z06? (Corvette SSX)
I love the car and drove it daily until last week when I picked up a beater truck. The car is fantastic, but I have had some little problems that were all fixed under warranty. In fact, I bitched to GM and they gave me a full 3 year extended warranty on the car. A mod has to be proven to cause a malfunction for warranty overage to be denied. I have full bolt-ons and haven't voided anything. Now if my exhaust pipe breaks I have to take that up w/ Kooks or Borla, not GM. Also, if you have a blower or something that will void the engine warranty, and the power windows stop working then you can't be denied coverage etc. I'd get the '02+ and avoid the oil consumption problem. I had mine all fixed under warranty but it was a hassle.
I have had my '02 for two years and one month - and it has 25.5K miles on it.
There would be no problem using it as an everyday driver - but of course there is a premium to be paid for doing so.
A C5 will give you great mileage and creature comfort, with outstanding performance and reliability.
You really do not give up that much practicality - most "regular duty" trips can be done in the vette.
My biggest problem with daily use is in leaving the car parked - I tend to worry it will get damaged or the wheels will be stolen etc. As time has passed, I am much less on edge about leaving it in parking lots etc.
