Default Headers question.

I read someone who was selling some TPIS? headers say they were selling them to get some "real" long tubes. What was he talking about. I am in the market for headers and this is one brand I was looking at. Does anyone have info on this? Do the LGs give that much more power?

LG's consistantly rate higher but the price tag comes with it.

I have the LG pro LT's with RT cats & stock Ti-exhaust. My car on the dyno gained 21HP & 21TQ. I should be able to achieve a few more #'s after an LS-1 edit/tune. Above 4500rpm's my AFR is a bit rich.

Go to my Z06 page (see sig) for dyno results of my TPIS plus RT high-flow cat combo. We sell this package and it is fairly popular. It is also easy to install - did mine here at home with a jack, jackstands, basic hand tools, and about six hours from start to finish.

Some long tube header installations can be quite difficult. For me, I felt that if I didn't gain the extra 2 HP, I saved enough in installation difficulty and on the price of the pipe to justify the savings.

Check us out if you are in the market. We can help you with any questions you have.

I had great results with my TPIS on my last C5, if you have money go LGM, but TPIS are a nice piece just not stainless steel.
