i have a yukon that i had lowered. the truck rode worse than a 80 year old prostitute. i brought it to different shops to have it fixed till i finally gave up and brought it in to bring it back to stock. even after going back to stock my truck still rides horrible. i bought a lowering kit for the truck and then put back the stock suspension...
Soooooo heres the thing ....... i love the way the Z looks lowered but i am terrified to do it because if i dont like it even if i go back it can hurt the car in the long run , right?
also is it hard to lower it .... reading posts i see that people are doing it on there own...... is it realistic to think that someone with little car work experience can do it..... thanx for the help.
btw 01 yukon 22' foose spank, changed gears, predator, chrome step bars, 3 tv's, dvd, mb quartz mids and highs, two ten inch w7's, jl audio 500 w running mids and highs, jl audio 1000 watt running the subs....... truck is FOR SALE if anyone curious...... third row all leather seating, sunroof, etc...... p.s. i will get truck fixed b4 i sell......\
04 millenium yellow z06 comppletely stock and dying to modify.... just being careful cuz i love this car and dont want to screw anything up......... also i dont know a good vette guy here in south florida.....
Welcome, here is a link to a powerpoint presentation on lowering your Z06. http://www.members.shaw.ca/z06vette/ And here is a link to how to lower it even lower in the front. http://www.corvetteforum.cc/techtips...D=90&TopicID=1 Take note: The first way most guys say they notice no dif in ride comfort. I don't care what anyone says, the second method will harshen your ride, I know from experience, as I have lowered 2 of my Vettes by cutting the front bushing and using longer bolts in the rear. It is harsher, but for me, well worth it to get rid of the 4X4 look. :U
my opinion is that your probably starting to hurt your lateral grip if you lower it more than the video says. Most times cars are designed with a ride hieght range in mind, that will keep all the suspension with in their ranges of mtion.
Dropping it out fo the stock range of motoion wont get your around a curve any faster.
The z06 is pretty sweet from the factory. I dropped mine down to the stops.

Re: lowering your Z (dirt-devil)
I love the look for sure but hate the ride.. its rough ... especially since we take several long trips each year.. 8 hrs +.... I am raising it back up to only be lowered an inch.....
Start off by lowering as far as the stock settings will let you. If you want to go further, by all means. If not, you can easily return your Z to the stock height.

Note that this numbnut who put together this powerpoint presentation tells you the WRONG way to lower the front. His presentation indicates a clockwise rotation on the spring bolt .... yeah, I didn't think it was too funny when my Z looked like a gawddang 4x4. And then I had to jack the car back up, take the wheels off, and crank down the adjuster a full inch or more. Counter-clockwise rotation on the front adjuster. :cuss
Mine is only lowered on the stock bolts. I wasn't willing to compromise ride either. :nono: Just curoius.........how do you know what an 80 year old prostitute rides like? :skep: :skep: :skep: :skep:
i just lowered mine as low as the stock bolts would go and it looks good and rides the same
Joe do you have a pic of yours now that it is lowered? Either post or email to me. I believe I'll be dropping mine using just the stock bolts only also.
Mine is low and I have no complaints about the ride. I liked the car at stock height, now I love the car :) Send me some pics of the Yukon and your asking price also
