I doubt it. I have a brand new Z06 GM bra that would work great for $75 shipped, marine screws included. I bought it to drive my new Z06 back to Dallas from the dealer in Ohio, but I never put it on. Let me know if you are interested.
Saran Wrap? Probably not. A well-fitted bra, as Rob 2K1 points out, is your better bet. This reminds me of when I lived in Florida, years ago, and we were inundated twice per year, with 'love bugs'. People that crossed the state or took long drives coated their cars with Pam cooking spray so the pesky insects wouldn't stick. What a mess. Screens were also used to the dismay of many when they saw how badly they ate away at the paint from their incessant movement. Yeah, a bra, that's the answer. :yesnod:
Cleartastic is having a special I noticed on this forum and combined with a bra you should be covered (no pun) :D
Check out the vendors to the left and find Cleartastic and click for the info.
Good Luck!
Going on a road trip myself this friday and I will probably do what I just suggested
Have you thought about StoneGuard? It's kind of expensive but worth it. I have it on my 03 Z and am worry free when drving on the interstates now. If you are ever in the Atlanta area I know a good installer.
It is a clear plastic film made by 3M. It is applied to the front of the vehicle like tape but has superior strength and near zero visibilty when installed. They have kits specifically designed/cut for differnt cars. Check them out here: http://www.stoneguard.com/sgcontent/default.asp
Actually, it might. The white plastic you see on cars these days eveolved from Saran wrap. But, its thicker. You might be able to use the shrink wrap you see in many stores that htey wrap pallets with etc... Its about twice as thick.
But, clearguard/stoneguard ,etc... Would be a much preferrable choice. I know folks who have had it done, and love it... I wish I had.
Go to the carpet section at Home Depot. They have clear "film" that is used on new house carpets so that contractors won't get the carpet dirty. Its sticky on one side. Its like $10 for a 25x2' roll or 50x2' for $25.
Start at one front fwd wheel wheel go around the front then over to the other wheel well. Cut out holes for brake ducts and the other holes.
It pulls off with no problems, I have used it many times on the track at speeds up to 145 @ VIR.
I also have Xpel, same material as stoneguard. I put this stuff overtop of the xpel with no problems.
I have seen it used before and it will keep the bug guts off! You might have to reapply it once or twice, but yeah it can work. It won't protect against rock chips though.

:withstupid: And when you arrive, you can use it to wrap any leftover sandwiches from the trip :)
