Hi outrunum!!!!! Those were the first mods I made on my 2003 Z06. I am not too sure on the exact horsepower increase, but I would guess it would increase it about 25-30 hp.
Did I notice any difference in performace?
You betcha I did! It is amazing. I am looking into headers and cams now!

Re: Z06 Mods-LS1 Edit/Black Wing (dfwroadkill)
I got LS1dit tuned after my Vararam installation & it turns out my A/F trims were all off by like 20%!! I noticed an improvement after the VR & another one after the LS1 Edit as well. I went directly to the track from the tune. See my sig down below for the results!!
Dr. Ron,
Your sig shows you posted some nice numbers for what is basically a stock Z06. Congrats! It also shows 370 RWHP which I take is post intake and LS1 Edit. This seems to back up rbarticks summation that you can't get 25-30 hp (I assume we are all talking RWHP here) from the installation of an intake and an edit.
theblackvette,
Since I don't remember you saying your car has been dyno'ed, it appears from your statement you are just guessing.
Look, I can see an intake and edit gaining 20-25 crank hp on some cars, but this forum generally discusses what gets to the ground, so 25-30 RWHP from same is not reasonable IMHO.
As I said previously, save the money, do something significant, then edit. It is not worth the money spent on an edit when you just add an intake. It is foolishly spent as the increase is negligible in the real performance world. So many people buy into all of the little gimmicks out there not wanting or being able to spend the bucks for the real power. Next thing you know, they have a butt load of widgits that cost them a fortune and it's not doing much for them. The truth is, if a guy can't afford anymore than an intake for mods, he needs to spend his money somewhere else and wait until he can do it right. Simple as that.
Well, Dr. Ron says he got 370 RWHP with Vararam and edit. You say you got 364.7 with Blackwing and no edit. I think this answers what to expect with this level of mods and an edit. The edit will help a lot more with more significant mods.
